If you’re looking for a Hangang River view cafe in Seoul, I highly recommend Bean Brothers Coffee House Seoul. It’s about a 7-minute walk from Sangsu Station Exit 3. The black building with the BEAN BROTHERS COFFEEHOUSE sign is your destination.

You can access the 6th floor, 7th floor, and the rooftop.

6th Floor – Coffee Bar (Booking Required)

The 6th floor is a coffee bar, but you’ll need to make a reservation before visiting.

7th Floor – Relaxing Cafe with Stunning Hangang River Views

The 7th floor is the main relaxing cafe area, and it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the Hangang River view through the large window. On nice weather days, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.

There are different types of seats and tables, from cozy sofa to a unique seat where you can actually lie down. The colors of furnitures and the plants makes a warm, calm harmony, and the large windows really bring the scenery to life. They play soft relaxing cafe music, which makes the atmosphere even calmer.

Here, the ordering process is a little different from most cafes. First, you need to choose a seat. Then the staff will come to your table, explain the menu in detail, and give you time to decide. Once you’re ready, you place your order when the staff returns. Payment is made when you leave the cafe. It feels more like a sit-down experience than a counter-service cafe.

There are a few things to note: outlets are limited, and the maximum stay is 2 hours. This makes it less ideal as a study or work space. If all the seats are taken, you need to reserve a spot through the CatchTable. Once you’ve chosen your seat, you can’t freely change if there are people waiting on CatchTable.

Rooftop – An Even Closer Hangang River View

From the 7th floor, you can take the stairs up to the rooftop. The seats aren’t air-conditioned at the moment (too hot in summer), you can still enjoy the marvelous Hangang River view from above.

Coffee & Dessert at Bean Brothers

Bean Brothers offers 6 different coffee bean types. The three most famous ones are:

• Black Suit – sweet chocolate and nutty flavor
• Velvet White – light, flowery, and fruity aroma
• Decaf Cajamarca – maple syrup and nutty flavor

I tried the Velvet White Latte (9,500 KRW). It had a clean taste with no bitterness, very easy to drink. The flowery and fruity aroma was subtle, but the coffee flavor was stronger.

For dessert, I paired it with Jasmine Apricot (12,000 KRW), which was highly recommended. It’s a delicate, slightly sweet dessert with layers of matcha-flavored cake, mashed apricot, white jasmine cream, and a crispy cake crust at the bottom. They also served small crispy round cookie pieces on the side, which added fun texture when eaten together.
