While searching for the best dessert spots in Gangnam, I visited the famous butter tteok saddler haus in Garosu-gil. After enjoying lunch at Nice Shower Chiyu Garosu-gil, I walked about 7 minutes to Saddler Haus. Since butter tteok has recently become a hot trend in Korea, I was excited to try one of the most talked-about places. Saddler Haus reportedly studied many butter rice cake styles in Shanghai before creating its own signature version.

Saddler Haus is about an 8-minute walk from Sinsa Station Exit 8. Inside the cafe, there were many desserts besides the famous butter tteok saddler haus menu.

I visited around 1:30 PM. If you arrive exactly at 2 PM, the line may already be long. I recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early. I waited about 5 to 10 minutes before purchasing.

Butter Tteok Price and Honest Review

The butter tteok was sold as a set of 5 pieces for 7,500 KRW.

The texture was excellent:

• Crispy outside
• Moist inside
• Chewy like rice cake

It also had a soft vanilla and buttery aroma. Very delicious.

A few days earlier, I tried the butter tteok from Starbucks. Since it had softened over time, it was less crispy. However, the inside was chewier like glutinous rice cake. Comparing both, I believe butter tteok saddler haus stands out more for texture and flavor.
