The place we visited for a Seoul Forest tonkatsu date is Jungdon Seongsu, a tonkatsu restaurant located right near Exit 4 of Seoul Forest Station. After my boyfriend visited for the first time, he started eating tonkatsu only here. Including dates and family meals, I have already visited this place eight times, and whenever I want to eat tonkatsu, this is the Seoul Forest restaurant that immediately comes to mind.

Menu Review

Once again, we ordered our usual combination: shrimp fillet tonkatsu (28,000 KRW) and fish cutlet (17,000 KRW).
At Jungdon, all three types of katsu are so delicious that we end up ordering the same menu every time we visit.

All katsu share one thing in common: the outside is extremely crispy and very tasty.
The portion size is generous, so it is very satisfying. My boyfriend and I both really love large shrimp, so we always choose the shrimp fillet tonkatsu. Compared to pork loin, the fillet is more moist and tender, so I recommend the fillet katsu.
Dip the shrimp in the green sauce, and eat the fillet katsu with a little wasabi and the brown sauce together. There are two kinds of salt, and the yellow salt has a subtle yuzu aroma that spreads gently.

The fish cutlet sauce is addictive but can feel slightly greasy, so if you eat it together with pickled radish and pickles, it removes the greasiness well. The pickles are not only good with the fish cutlet but also perfect as a palate cleanser while eating other katsu. As you eat like this, the plate becomes empty before you realize it.

At Jungdon Seongsu, the fillet katsu, shrimp cutlet, and fish cutlet are all truly delicious.
I have personally visited many times with family and as a couple. Overall, the katsu style is classic: crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The pieces are large, providing a high level of satisfaction, and the sauces and pickles are well composed, making the meal enjoyable. Especially, the pickled radish and pickles reduce greasiness, so even when you order multiple kinds of katsu, you do not get tired of eating them.
In conclusion, Jungdon Seongsu, known as the Best Tonkatsu Jungdon Seongsu, is highly recommended for:
