Another Side Cafe – Relaxing Vacation Vibes Near Balsan Station

Another Side Cafe near Balsan Station is one of Seoul’s most calming, nature-inspired coffee spots. From its vacation-like interior to its peaceful outdoor seating, this hidden gem is perfect for enjoying coffee, desserts, and a relaxing break from the city.

I recently dropped by on a rainy afternoon, and although I was worried the drizzle would ruin my photos, the rain thankfully stopped just as I left Exit 6 of Balsan Station.

It’s about a 9-minute walk from Balsan Station, and interestingly, the café is situated halfway between Balsan and Ujangsan stations. While it’s a bit of a walk, it’s worth the trip.

Another Side Cafe – First Impressions

When I first saw the exterior, a few cars were parked in front. The café had a deer logo and text signage on a green grass backdrop. Honestly, it didn’t look too fancy from the outside.

But once I stepped in, the interior completely changed my impression. The warm lighting, decorative lamps, and touches of nature instantly gave off a calm, aesthetic vacation vibe. Inside, you’ll find a small aquarium, a gentle waterfall feature, and even a beach chair for props. It felt like a space where you could unwind, chat with friends or family, or simply enjoy a good book.

There were no outlets, so it’s not the most laptop-friendly café, but I still saw a few people working. If you plan to bring your laptop, make sure to charge it fully beforehand.

Another Side Cafe Interior – Nature-Inspired Indoor & Outdoor Seating

Unlike many multi-floor cafés in Seoul such as Alver, ChecknGrow and Rezero, Another Side has just one indoor floor, plus an outdoor seating area. Due to the rainy weather, no one was sitting outside during my visit, but the terrace offers a peaceful, nature-filled view that I imagine would be perfect on sunny days.

Menu Highlights at Another Side Cafe

To place your order at Another Side Cafe, you’ll need to use their self-service kiosk. The menu offers a wide range of options, including coffee, beverages, sandwiches, desserts, bingsu, and more. Whether you’re in the mood for a sweet treat or something savory, there’s plenty to choose from.

I went for three of their special menu items:

• Earl Grey Fig Cookie (₩4,500) – Soft yet crunchy, lightly sweet, not dry at all. The chewy fig pieces added a fragrant flavor that was absolutely amazing. I would honestly come back just for this cookie.
• Chocolate Teddy Cake (₩7,500) – A chocolate mousse exterior with a touch of chocolate cake inside. Sweet, rich, and perfect for chocolate lovers.
• Signature Matured Latte (₩5,400) – Slightly bitter with a smooth, addictive coffee bean taste. Easily one of the most delicious lattes I’ve had in months.

My personal favorites were the Earl Grey Fig Cookie and the Signature Matured Latte—both are absolute must-tries if you visit Another Side Cafe.

Final Thoughts

Another Side Cafe is a charming, hidden gem between Balsan and Ujangsan stations. While the exterior may not immediately wow you, the cozy vacation-inspired interior, peaceful outdoor seating, and delicious signature menu items make it well worth a visit.
