First Impressions

From the outside, the large transparent windows caught my eye right away. I could easily see into the café from the street, and that gave it a very welcoming vibe. I love cafes with big windows because I enjoy people-watching while sipping my drink—and 9HERTZ nailed that experience.

Inside, the cafe atmosphere is comfortable, clean, and organized—ideal for anyone planning to stay for hours. Whether you’re a digital nomad or student, it’s a great spot to focus.

Desserts & Ordering

Next to the counter, there’s a neat dessert display featuring handmade scones and cookies. Everything looked delicious and well-presented. The top 3 most popular desserts at 9HERTZ are the custard scone, double choco chip scone and fresh cream berry scone.

Ordering is simple thanks to the self-service kiosk, and right next to it, you’ll find the Wi-Fi password written on a piece of paper—a nice little detail for digital nomads or students needing to get some work done.

What I Ordered

I went with my go-to drink: a café latte (₩4,800) and custard scone(4300). The flavor was really unique—it had a slight scorched rice taste to it. At first, I was a bit surprised, but it grew on me quickly. It’s not your typical latte, but in a good way! I’d order it again on my next visit.

The custard scone was soft, light, and subtly sweet—just the way I like it. I finished it quickly without even needing a drink on the side. It was so good that it made me want to come back and try the other scone flavors on my next visit to 9HERTZ.

1st Floor vs. 2nd Floor Seating

The first floor has low tables and cushioned chairs, perfect for casual conversations or just enjoying your drink.

The second floor, on the other hand, is more suited for studying or working, with higher tables and chairs. During my visit, the upstairs was buzzing with people working on laptops and reading books, giving off a productive yet peaceful vibe.

Power Outlets

One thing to note: there aren’t many power outlets available at 9HERTZ cafe. If you’re planning to study or work on your laptop for a long time, it’s a good idea to come with a fully charged device.

Vibe & Atmosphere

The overall vibe was lively—lots of people chatting and studying. If you enjoy being in an active environment where you can still focus or relax, this is a great pick.

Final Thoughts: Is 9HERTZ a Good Study Cafe in Seoul?

If you’re looking for a laptop-friendly work cafe in Wangsimni, just want to visit a spot with great ambiance and cozy seating, or try a dessert cafe with great scones, I definitely recommend 9HERTZ. It’s ideal for both casual meetups and solo work sessions.
